La Casa Cádiz,
on Ustáriz 7, is close to all the delights of Cádiz,
and yet it is tucked away on a secret little street for peaceful
siestas and if you wish, the odd quiet evening. Cádiz is
known for its year round festive atmosphere and lively streets.
People are friendly and boisterous, meeting in plazas every evening
to chat and eat tapas. Seafood in Cádiz is excellent and
the local wines and sherries always enhance a great meal. Cádiz
is a beautiful walking town, with lots of activity, but surrounded
by the tranquil sea and beautiful white Atlantic beaches.

The Cathedral of Cádiz sits along the ocean

("La Terraza" is one of our favorites for fresh seafood.)

The charming Plaza Mina is a few blocks from la Casa Cádiz
and hosts the Museo de Cádiz as well as several bars, a toy
store and an excellent Italian ice cream shop. This plaza is a favorite
for families, with plenty of room to run and play among the tropical
trees. |
|
Calle Ancha (or "wide street") is a major pedestrian shopping
street with shops, cafes and street performers, all less than a
5 minute walk from la Casa Cádiz. |

Plaza San Antonio
You can hear the bells of the church in Plaza San Antonio from la
C asa C·diz, and pick up a game of f™tbol or feed the pigeons
anytime of day. This is a classic grand 18th century plaza with
shipping magnatesí towers keeping watch.

C·diz hosts one of the three largest Carnival
celebrations in the world. Parades, street performers, and
singing groups are found in every plaza, all night for one
week. |

Baluarte
One block from la Casa Cádiz
is the art and cultural hall called the "Baluarte"
where flamenco festivals are held as well as plays and exhibits
of all kinds. Cadiz is known as the cradle of flamenco, and
you can hear some of the best right down the street. |
