Jerez
Just 30 minutes up the road you can drive through the
chalky white hills of Jerez where the fine sherry grapes are grown,
and arrive in Jerez de la Frontera to a full array of Bodegas for
sherry tasting. The town is truly elegant as are the famous Andalusian
horses which perform at the Royal Academy here in town. Jerez also
has the most convenient airport to Cádiz, about a 30Ü cab
ride or a bus on the Comes line will bring you to the station about
a 10 minute walk from la Casa Cádiz.

Sanlucar
A little further north of Jerez is the lovely town of Sanlucar,
famous for its fortified sherry-like wine called Manzanilla and
exquisite shellfish. This idyllic spot borders the Coto Doñana,
Spains largest wildlife preserve and major resting place along
the Africa- Europe bird migration route. Every August Sanlucar hosts
horseracing on the beach and draws a large festive crowd from around
the region.

Ronda/Pueblos Blancos
Ronda is a beautiful 1.5 hour drive northeast of Cádiz and
a must see when in this region. The queen of the Pueblos
Blancos, this city has good restaurants, a fine archeological museum
and extraordinary views. You will pass many white villages along
the way to Ronda from Cadiz and there is wonderful countryside all
around to explore on foot or by bicycle.

Granada
To be within striking distance and not get to Granada
would be truly a shame. The glorious Alhambra graces this amazing
city from the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Granadas vibrant
flavor of Moorish culture in the Albacín neighborhood, the
bustle of university life and the exotic gypsy presence makes Granada
a rich stopover on your way to, or from la Casa Cádiz.
